Tempted to leave the UK?

nottingham house

I’m only 33 and have seen in the past 25 years some rather saddening changes to this country. It seems that by the week the government is punishing the middle class ordinary person just because he is an easy target, it seems that crime has gone mental and although there is claims by whomever that crime ios reducing, I can recall hardly any incidents of gun crime in my youth, people are getting shot every week in the likes of Manchester, Nottingham, London and Birmingham, not to mentio the number of houses that get broken into and cars that get damaged. And now, becuase of government policy against the wishes of the majority of the country, we are being faced with random acts of murder by terrorists against the innocent. What’s happened to manufacturing? Its the industry I’m in and it seems to be the only country in Europe where the government does not care a monkeys that it is slipping away to the mainland. Will we all be selling Lithuanian burgers to each other in 20 years?

I love my country and I wouldn’t be pushed out – I’m not going to allow a bunch of thugs, troublemakers and terrorists push me out of it. My family fought WWII to keep ous safe and free and keep our country ours. I’m not about to disregard their sacrifice by abandoning it.

It would take something pretty bad to make me want to leave.

Plus other countries are just as bad if not worse – look at america – drive bys and shootings and every retarded, inbred Cleetus or Merl waving a gun about because their “constitution” says they can! Scary.

We need a new government. One who gives a toss.

I’m tempted but have a problem with flying. Quite like the idea of Canada as i have relatives over there. But wouldn’t want to leave friends & family.

selling the burgers made by Lithuanians, but with Croatians serving us!! I totally agree that this country has a lot of work to do and the government need to tighten up their “PC” approach to everything and say once again we are a UNITED KINGDOM with a united aim and a united people. If you dont like it, leave!

Leave while you can. Not Europe either.
    That’s my advice.
I’m off in T- 5 weeks. I hope to not return.
Just like a rat, I’ll admit. But I’m not going down with HMS UK.

I’m completely tempted to get out of England, I think it’s going seriously down hill government wise and in terms of our society generally. It seems the closer you are to London the worse it is as well, so everyone will want to move further a field for the cheaper house prices and just to get away and eventually there’s only so far you can go whilst still remaining in the country.
My parents and my grandparents (who moved here from India) are always asking if me or my brothers would like to move out of the country and the other day I found myself looking at how I would emigrate to Australia. So the answer is a definite yes – I want out!

Dude..i’m with you on this one. the only thing stopping me from leaving this country is my wife. her mum is ill, and she cares for her 3 times a week.

If i wasn’t married i would move abroad. This country is a joke. We are considering having children, and to be honest…I don’t want to bring my kids up in this country.

What with the internet now, people are able to work remotely, allowing us to be in another country.

if you have no ties, my advise is go while you can !

It’s true what you say, l now live abroad, l live in a safer environment, l don’t worry so much about my kids or myself being mugged everytime we go out, we have really hot weather, but the grass is not always greener. l get really homesick, the wages here are lower, the cost of living is high, it’s hard being away from close family and friends. House prices are even expensive abroad.

problem is babe most other countries are much the same ..look at spain they must be sick of all the brits that are settling over there and ruining their culture …

I have had the pleasure of studying and living in the UK for 5 years and no amount of money can buy that unique experience. England is not perfect but the rule of law with great respect for individual liberties must surely be the basis of any good society.

Back in Asia I renew the increasing frustration of living in a humid tropical environment. Years ago I could drive quite comfortably without turning on the car airconditioning – it’s unbearably hot and taxing now without a good cooling aircon in the car, the bedroom, in the office.

Muggings, snatch thefts, burglaries, rapes murders, drug addicts have increased significantly over the years and there are city roads I would not walk in. Foreign workers from improverished 3rd world Asian countries are in abundance.

Piped water in homes are yellowish – water filters are mandatory now not before. We drink bottled water, unheard of before. We even need to pay to pee in shopping malls, never before. The quality of life in general has dropped. So much for progress. Count your blessing. UK is OK!!!

i agree i would like to leave the UK personally and go live in Crete not just cause whats happening over here with terrorists, crap government and such but i genuinely loved it over there and even got offered a job which i stupidly turned down

As soon as ID cards are made compulsary, I’m out of here, or will go to prison to defend my right not to carry one. I have lived abroad before, and would have no worries about doing it again. We do have to be careful though that we don’t all jump ship and try to turn our new homes into a new Little Britain. Otherwise, we are as bad as those who insist on living a totally incompatible lifestyle in a country which cannot or will not support it.
    When in Rome…… etc.

  14. ouzian4ever says:

Dont be hasty. Other places have their weaknesses too. Besides, you dont want to experience culture shock, and remember there are some cultures that are not warm and friendly to foreign expats. So think twice before leaving.

I left the UK last year after 10 years of being a teacher and fed up with the education system – league tables and results. I now live in Brussels and work at an international school – I love the lifestyle – eating out- visiting other countries can be in France/ Germany/ Holland in an hour and a half! – working to live – the crime rate is lower than UK and teenagers are really into clubs organised by each commune. However, I still love the UK but am alarmed at yob culture – where people are scared to make a stand against teenagers vandalising, litter dropping etc At my last school the village was terrorised by a gang of 14/15 year olds who burnt down several buildings and caused alot of damage to cars etc – and what happened – they have a social worker visit!

it’s no different wherever you go

i’m english, and i left UK 14 yrs ago to live and work in germany
i love it here, have a family, good job and i’m happy, but the same problems are here too

the 9/11 terrorists (or at least one of them) apparently “studied” here, we have racist problems like anywhere else. the clubs in the cities are being run by albanians and croatians. we have some schools with >90% “foreighner” etc etc

make the most of what you have, and never forget that the grass is always greenr on the other side, but when you cross the fence you’ll find that the dogs shit on the lawn there too

  17. Veritas says:

Trouble is, that is exactly what the government wants. They seem set on sabotage.

  18. Rick says:

I understand how you feel, crime is a joke at the moment, the low life pond life are getting away with murder and the police are doing absolutely nothing about it. What infuriates me more is the government are talking about releasing 50,000 of the parasites back into the community to commit more crime because the prisons are full, wyh don’t they build more bloody prisons then?
