If you’re behind on mortgage payments, but now have enough to pay almost all of the arrears, will citi accept
what you have now and let you pay the remainder in two weeks. Last time I talked to them, they wanted 9000 (incl. legal fees), now another payment is due. I can pay 8800 now and in two weeks I can pay 1000.

Just make the payment like you stated above. Call them, let them know you want to make a payment, when they ask how much, tell them $8800. If they were to refuse it they would be totally nuts.
Congrats on catching up!
nope, they prefer mthly payment with interest but u are better off with debt free. no bad, your repayment skills are fast. where does the money come from? heh…..hmmm……
As long as they haven’t accelerated the loan and started foreclosure, they’ll take whatever you can offer. If they’ve said pay the whole loan or get out, you’re screwed.
They should take it, but call them, make sure that a person, not a computer handles the transaction. The computer will reject it.
call them and ask.. they will probably work with you because you do have so much of it and lots of people are having problems right now so the companies are being a bit more lenient. They will definitely work with you if they have not already started the foreclosure process.. good luck and hang in there.
Well, you need to ask them of course. But I think they’ll accept. I don’t think they want another foreclosure to deal with. But then again some creditors are irrational, specially the ones that rely on computers versus common sense.
They may tell you no because once so many months are up , they can take legal action against you , but if i was you , i would deposit the money in whatever account you use to pay your mortgage and if they don’t accept it , it will look bad on their behalf and give you some legal standing to get your house back.
If you do not just deposit it in an account then i would go into the bank and tell them that you are making a mortgage payment , put down what you can , and then make sure you add the rest when you say you can , if they have allready taken legal action against you , i am not sure …….. then you might want to contact a lawyer first before paying.
Pay the $8800.00 & let them know what you are doing & when you are paying the rest. Communication is pertinent!
depending on how close to forclosure you are they should be more than willing to accept your proposal. Citi is the same company i use and they are pretty good about working with you. Sometimes the clowns you first talk to will try to strong arm you into paying everything right then but if you ask for a supervisor and speak to them and explain everything they will usually be a little more helpfull. They may ask you to post date a check or go ahead and set up a draft for that future date. Hope everything goes your way.
